My Skin Care Regimen: How I treat my acne (before and after pics!)

This picture was taken today with nothing but moisturizer, ignore the swollen eyes, allegies suckk
(and there are tons of close ups of my skin all over the blog)

I have been thinking about posting this for a while but I hateeee these pictures so much. I also wanted to post because I have been getting a lot of compliments on my skin and it isn't naturally like this lol. I have been struggling with my skin for the past 3-4 years. I tried everything! Proactive made me horribly swollen and itchy, Retin A did very little, Minocyclin and Differin gel together worked great initially but did nothing after a year, all over the counter products failed, the Clairsonic Mia did nothing, and oil washing made it way worse. I really hated my skin and didn't even want to wear my makeup because i felt like it didn't look good and foundation can't hide acne or bumps.
After doing some research I stumbled across Acne.org and I am so glad I did. If you have skin issues and have tried everything definately give this a try! It is so simple I really thought it wouldnt work, the 2.5% Bp is also way gentler on your skin than the 10% stuff in Proactive and most other acne products. I also like that you can use drug store products to follow the regimen. The website contains a list of products you can use, he sell products also.
Products I use:
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion
Acne.Org 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide Treament

** There are reviews for all of his products on makeupalley, the ratings are all great, esp for the BP!

The website is really detailed and it is important you follow the instructions so I will just post important links:

I didn't have a camera at the time and I was having issues with my phone so I didnt take pictures after I started. I did notice improvement a few days after I started and was pretty much clear in 2-3 weeks (It is different for everyone). Here are the pictures of my skin right before I started in October. I still get a break out or two occasionally but nothing like before. These pictures are poor quality because I used my phone my skin actually looked a lot worse. I am not even sure why I took these because I did'nt have a blog at the time lol.

I was wearing makeup in this picture and it did nothing, I also adjusted the contrast some so you could see the acne better :(

My skin use to be really bad like that a couple years ago. I use a basic drugstore product to help with my skin, so I know how it is to finally find that special product that actually works! Your skin looks great : )

Thanks for the post ^^, I hope this works for me, I have never had acne before now (I'm turning 21) and it's destroying my self esteem :(
also a question: what if you had make-up on? how do you take it off?

Hi, this has nothing to do with this post, lol, but I noticed you like Rock & Republic makeup and just wanted to tell you that they are having a big sale on hautelook.com. Like eyeshadows marked down from $28 to $8 and lipglosses from $26 to $7 (there are other items from them on sale as well). You have to sign up on hautelook to be able to buy the makeup & the sale ends tomorrow 4/28.

@Danielle: thanksss, and isnt it great finding products that work that are easy to find!?

@Tanisa: Thanks so much!

@Lauren: They have an Alpha Hydroxy lotion that should help with scars it has really good reviews on makeup alley. I purchased it but I dont use it consitently enough to review it

@Kearea':Check it out! I felt like I looked like a teenager too. They have an Alpha Hydroxy lotion that should help with scars it has really good reviews on makeup alley. I purchased it but I dont use it consitently enough to review it.

@Cookie: I hope so too. And it did the same to me, I hatedddd it. If i am wearing makeup i just use the Cetaphil cleanser to get off the mascara then wash my face with it. It gets it all off!

@Niika, Nihmen, and Westndbeauty:Def check it out, it is worth a try!

@Anon: Thanks sooo much, I have a haute look account but I don't get emails from them. I will def check out the sale!

I have a lot of acne, genital pimples and acne scars all over my face. Is there any natural remedies to get rid of them in a week? I have to get rid of them in a week cause I am going to a wedding! It doesn't really have to be a week, a month will do. Thnx.

Are there any home remedies that will get rid of these acne in two weeks or less. Or are there any cheap yet effective products? Thank you :) under skin pimple

People have different skin types. The products that worked for other people might not work for you, and vice versa. Anyway, it's great to hear that you found the products that worked wonders for your skin. For others though, consulting their dermatologist can hasten their search and finally achieve that perfect skin they've been dreaming of.

Hey, thanks for posting this! i've tried so many different treatments for my skin, including changing my diet and lifestyle, and have seen little results! The regime looks amazing - were you able to come off the benzoyl peroxide once your skin cleared up?

really love your blog
