Mac Rebel! FOTD

Hi everyone!I got Mac Rebel lipstick about a week ago and have been dyingg to try it out after seeing it on other people. Since it is such a bold berry fuchsia color I thought it would look nice with a mostly matte neutral eye. Rebel is kinda similar to Girl About Town, but it is more of a purplish berry color. I cant wait to wear these colors in the summer!

Generic Value Products Conditioning Balm VS Matrix Biolage Conditioning Balm

So my hair is straight again, I can't wait until it is warmer and I can do more with my natural texture because I won't mind going out with wet hair. Anyway, I tried out the Generics (GVP) Conditioning Balm from Sally's on Friday before straightening my hair and I am extremely pleased! Aside from using a good flat iron and blow dryer, using a good conditioner plays a major roll in getting natural hair silky and straight. Using a good conditioner before flat ironing is really important because you want your hair to be moisturized because you do not want to use a lot of product prior to straightening. I usually use a salon quality conditioner when flat ironing, for the past two years I have been using Matrix Biolage Conditioning Balm. Since I have had good luck with the Generics flat iron I thought I'd give some of their other products a try.
I applied this conditioner like I do the Biolage and left it in for a couple hours like I usually do. The only thing I did differently is use the Generics conditioner. After rinsing it out my hair felt soft and moisturized. I am very happy with this product! My hair has movement and feels soft, I actually think my hair came out a little straighter than usual. I have never been able to get my hair straight how I like it while using cheaper shampoos and conditioners so I am so excited this worked as good as or better than the original! The Biolage Conditioning Balm cost 19.49 for 16.9 oz compared to 6.29 for 16 oz of Generics Conditioning Balm! The Generics line from Sally's is great, If they make a generic version of a product you use give it a try, could save you a lot of money!

Yay for progress!

I was looking through old pictures and found a picture of my braid outs towards the end of my transition and just thought I'd post them. I have cut my hair in between the picture from march and now to get rid of relaxed ends and for trims, but I still see growth! The first picture to the last shows about 14 months of growth with some cuts and trims in between.

Coastal Scents Camouflage Palette Review + Swatches

I ran out of my concealer, so I decided to give the Coastal Scents Camouflage Palette a try. The palette cost $16.95 and contains 10 concealers ranging from very light to very dark that can be blended together to make the shade you need for your skin tone. The concealer is very creamy and provides full opaque coverage.Because there is such a large range of colors this palette is especially useful for makeup artist who can use the palette on a large range of skin tones or those using concealers for multi purposes. I plan on using this palette to hid imperfections, define eyebrows, as an eyeshadow base and to cover under eye circles. I will use the lightest colors over my eyeshadow primers as bases. I will use the browner colors for my eyebrows, under eye circles, imperfections. The two darker colors can be used for contouring.I am glad I purchased the palette and it is a very great value for the price!

Purchased from here

The last color on the top row and third color on the bottom row blend the best with my skin. The Third on the bottom is closest to the color of the concealer I was previously using.

Thanks for reading!

Shiny Red Lips! Rock and Republic Cougar Lip gloss

Hello Ladies! The rest of my Rock and Republic arrived yesterday. I was gonna post a review on it all but I'm not feeling well and its not all that exciting anyway lol. I got two more eye shadows: Scorch (Shimmery Orange) and Electric (Shimmery Royal Blue) and two lip glosses: Cougar (Red) and Vacant (Nude). I do however want to post pictures of Cougar. Cougar is a beautiful shiny red. The only true red I own right now is Mac Ruby Woo, and while I love that I wanted a red lip that was more shiny since Ruby Woo is so matte. The Lip gloss comes in a test tube looking container, and while it looks like a lot of product it isn't. Their lip glosses are 0.11 fl oz for $26 compared to Macs 0.17 fl oz for $14.50. I don't usually like lip gloss unless I am wearing it over a lipstick but I love this one. It is not sticky at all and the color is very opaque. It is pretty costly but it is worth it to pick some up when they are on sale. Their other colors also seem very brown skin friendly.

excuse my face I am only wearing foundation so it looks really bare

I can't wait to do a full face and wear this out!
What red lipsticks or glosses do you ladies like? I need moreee lol

Green Eyes- FOTD!

As you can see I failed and straightened my hair again lol. After I thought about it I don't feel bad at all. Once spring hits and its raining and starting to get warm I won't be able to really wear my hair straight until fall, so now is the time to enjoy it straight anyway! I got  two new eyeshadow brushes this week, Mac 224 and 239, so I decided to try them out! And ignore the tank top, I didn't get dressed yet lol.

Rock and Republic Haul + Swatches (Part 1)

Hello Ladies! If you haven't heard Rock and Republic Cosmetics has been on sale on their official website and was on sale on Haute Look about a week ago. I placed 2 orders on the Rock and Republic website, and the first order arrived today! In this order i got 3 eye shadows (Provocative, Chronic, and Denim) and Shameless Blush. The eye shadows retail at $28 and the blushes at $40. If I paid full price this would have cost me $124 dollars plus shipping. Luckily I only paid 55.95 with shipping included, and if i used the $25 referral code like I did for my second order it would have been 30.95. Either way it is still a great deal! The eye shadows were on sale for $14. Although the blush was full price I used the code: Rockcosmetics and my entire order was half off! (The code still works!)

One thing I love about this brand is the packaging! It is kinda big and heavy but it is really pretty and shiny :

The Products:
Eyeshadows: 28$
From their website: "- Available in Three Finishes: Matte, Satin, or Shimmer
                               - Long Wearing, Formulated for Easy Application
                               - Richly Pigmented
                               - Fine- Jet Milled Powder
                               - Full Range of shades "

Provacative, Chronic, Denim

Denim, Provacative, Chronic
(applied over Urban Decay Primer Potion)

Denim:
Denim is a a matte navy blue shade.

Provacative:
Provacative is a shimmery cranberry color

Chronic:
Chronic is a shimmery forest green

Blush: 40$
From their website: "-Smooth, silky texture
-Available in three finishes: matte, shimmer and transluent
-Can be used to highlight or accent"

Shameless:
Shameless is a pinkish brown color with gold shimmer

Shameless on my cheeks:

Dupe!:
Before I ordered Shameless I thought it would be similar to my favorite blush MAC Sweet as Cocoa, and I was right. It is practically identical! Sweet as Cocoa is very slightly darker and Shameless has a little more gold shimmer but it is pretty hard to tell the difference between the two. I do think I will be reaching for Shameless now instead of Sweet as Cocoa .

Sweet as Cocoa is the smaller one on top

I suck at getting good blush swatches, but you can see how similar the colors are:

Right to Left:MAC Sweet as Cocoa, Shameless

On cheeks:

Right- Sweet as Cocoa, Left - Shameless

Final Thoughts: While these products may seem very pricey they are very good quality and you get a lot of product. The eyeshadows are double the size of MAC shadows and the blushes are huge. Its definitely worth it to take advantage of  all the sales and discounts while they are available. The eyeshadows live up to all their claims, they are very pigmented and silky which make application a breeze. The matte color Denim is very creamy and easy to apply for a matte.

I adore Shameless blush. Sweet as Cocoa has been my favorite blush for years, and now I have found something that is pretty much identical to it but better! Shameless seems to have a little bit more gold shimmer that make you cheeks extra glowy, but if you already have Sweet as Cocoa it really isnt worth it to spend the 40$.

Ill be back with Part 2 this weekend!
