Flexi Rods!

I tried flexi rods for the first time! I like how it came out. I just did two pin curls in the very front and used five flexi rods and left them it in for about an hour.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Braid Out Day 2!

Hiii! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
My braidouts on blowdried hair have been sucking lately, so I decided to try one on wet hair. I origionally staarted doing them on blowdried hair to help show length, but after trying it on wet hair I def like this much better. I'm pretty sure this is the first time I did it on wet hair since being natural. I did the braid out the same way I did HERE, I just did it on wet hair instead. I moisturized with Oyin Handmade Hair Dew and Used Ecostyler gel. It took forever and a day to dry. It was still wet after air drying for over 12 hours and sitting under the hairdryer for about an hour. I wish I took pictures of it after I took the braids out because it looked nothing like this lol, It looked way too tame for me. I streched it with the concentation nozzle on the blowdryer and picked out the roots some. These pictures are of day two hair. I have been on a roll with this second day hair stuff lol!

Loving my hair!+ 13 month puff comparison

I did a wash and go and fell asleep with out doing anything to my hair. As a result it was super crazyyy when I woke up lol. I didn't feel like re-wetting it, so I pulled it back into a puff. I actually like it, I used to wear puffs almost daily last year and now I never wear them. I have really been enjoying my natural hair texture this summer! I haven't even been liking my blow-dried braidouts as much. So happy I went natural!

This was my puff May2010:
Big difference!
I love looking back at old pictures to see progress!

Have a wonderful Saturday!

Wash and Go with Eco Styler + 1 Year Unstreched Comparison Pics!

Hi! I have been wanting to post all week, but  this week kinda sucked because I had a sore throat and a fever from Monday to Thursday. Awful. Last night I finally felt well enough to hang out with my friends! I did this wash and go Using Herbal Essence Long Term Relationship and Eco Styler gel. I like this combo a lot. I get the same results as more expensive products but it cost much less. I got my scarf from somewhere on ebay. I was so dissappointed when it arrived because it is so small and I wanted to use it to make a headband with a big bow, It has a pretty pattern though! I am also kind of annoyed with my hair because the ends get really defined but the rest is just frizz. It has always been like this but the length seems to be making it worse.Oh well lol. Hope everyone has an amazing Saturday and Mothers Day tomorrow!

Comparison Pictures:

These pictures were taken a little over a year apart. I remember this time last year I thought it would take forever to see a difference in my hair unstreched because of shrinkage so I am very happy to see a noticeable difference!

I am tying to ween myself off of straight hair lol, so I did a braid out this weekend on blow dried hair using Oyin Handmade Hair Dew and Ic Fantasia gel. I loved the results and how my hair felt. i did about 10 cornrows for this I purchased the Hair Dew, Shine and Define, and Honey Hemp Conditioner from Oyin Handmade. I will post a more detailed review once I use the products more. I also decided to wear my Mac Impassioned lipstick today! I wish I took more pictures today but it was so rainy I didn't even feel like it.

Twist Out!

I am getting so lazy with my hair so I decided to try a twist out last night. This is my second twist out ever. I forgot to take pictures of the twist before I took them out, but I am sure I will be doing this a lot more once it gets warmer so I will explain with more detail next time. I washed my hair with Aussie Moist Shampoo, did an oil rinse with grape seed oil then conditioned with Aussie Moist Conditioner. I lightly blowdried my hair then did about 15- 20 two strand twist using only Fantasia IC styling gel. My hair felt moisturized from the grapeseed oil so i did not bother moisturizing. The end result was very soft! I like how it looks in the pictures but I may end up straightening it if I go out tonight :( I have no self control lol. Anyway, Hope you all have a great weekend!

High Bun and Coral Lips!

Hiiii!
I wore my Revlon Color Burst in Coral last night . This lipstick is a little darker and more reddish orange than the Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in Kiss Me Coral. I don't think I really need to own both since they are pretty similar, but oh well! I am also posting a picture of my outfit. I got the shirt and bracelets from Forever 21, I love big shirts they help hide that I am so skinny lol. And I did not feel like wearing my hair out so I pulled it up into a high bun!Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!

Here are a couple pictures from the night, we just went to a couple bars:
The Smoke was not from us lol, the people who too the pic were smoking.

Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding Review- Wash and Go (pictures)

I have heard about Miss Jessie's for a while and decided to skip it because of the mixed reviews and mineral oil. I ended up purchasing it last week upon finding a bunch of Target gift cards from the Holidays!
Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding is a purple thick heavy cream with a very fragrant smell. The product retails at $38 for 16oz.

Their Claim: "Our world famous Curly Pudding is a "smooth operator" that transforms shrunken kinks to super shiny stretched out curls"..."Banishes frizz, promotes a soft, shiny, plump curl. Excellent for defining curls and twists. Yummy scent!"

Instructions for use: Apply a palm full of Curly pudding to damp freshly shampooed and conditioned hair. Rake through large sections and air dry. For maximum elongation comb a nickel sized dollop through small sections and air dry

Ingredients Water, Paraffinum Liquidum, Glycerin, Fragrance, Triethanolamine, Carbomer, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Dipropylene Glycol, Silk Amino Acids, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Avocado Oil, Shea Butter, Sweet Almond Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil, Macadamia Seed Oil, Oleth-5, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Disodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Ext. Violet 2.

I applied about a handful of the product on soaking wet hair after cowashing. I made sure to spread it evenly and get it in the middle.I did not detangle at all and I did not do any shingling. I literally just put it in my hair and let it dry. I did like that the product isn't a gel, so I was not scared to be generous with it. I was also very happy that while my hair did not feel moisturized after drying it was not crunchy like it is when I use a gel, I do wish it was more moisturizing tho. Also unlike some other reviews it did not leave my hair greasy, and my curls appear to be defined as the usually are. The product did provide good hold and the pictures taken were done after work and doing some walking in a lot of wind.

As of now I do not think I would purchase again, my hair was not soft at all and I do not think it is worth the price. I don't think It is a bad product to try if you are thinking about it because it does have mixed reviews and it may end up working out for you. I will see how I feel after trying it with braid outs or twist outs.

*excuse my face, I wasn't wearing any makeup and my nose is slightly red because I just came in from the cold lol

Braidout

I am getting soooo sick of the bun, so I decided to try a braidout for this weekend. I washed my hair with some random shampoo, conditioned with the Generics Conditioning Balm, and blow-dried. I did not blow dry my hair nearly as straight as I do when I'm planning to flat iron, just enough to stretch it. I used Sheamoisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie and Eco Styler Gel on each section before I braided it. I did 10 cornrows and left them in overnight. To get a curl at the bottom I just spray the bottom with water and twirl it around my finger a little. After I removed the cornrows, I did a lot of fluffing to get the look I wanted. I also used some Argan oil for softness and shine. When I wear this style I rebraid every night.

Kinky Curly Products- Wash and go + Fotd!

I fought the urge to straigten my hair and did a wash and go! I washed my hair using Kinky Curly's Come Clean Shampoo. I then saturated my hair with Kinky Curly Knot Today and Giovanni Direct Leave in. I would have only used the Knot Today but I didnt have enough of it. Giovanni works pretty well with the Kinky Curly products since it is natural also.  I then sectioned my hair and applied The Kinky Curly Curling Custard by smoothing it down my hair and racking it through some. I would have taken pictures of that but I did it in the shower since it is best to do it on soaking wet hair.

A little bit goes a long way with the Curling Custard, I think I used a little too much because my hair was a little crunchy, but over all I like the product and the fact that it has good ingredients. I also like the Knot Today leave in, but so much is needed so it can get a little pricey. I will have to stick to the Giovanni Leave in or find another alternative. I let my hair air dry for an hour or so, then I had to hurry and get dressed and didnt want wet hair so i dried it with the diffuser and concentration nozzle. I streched some areas with the concentration nozzle to try to fix the shape of my hair it dries funny.

This my hair wet with the products applied:

Here is a better view of my T-shirt, I love natural hair shirts and haddd to have this one!
